9. Always a Woman (Silver | JOHN LEWIS | JOHN LEWIS | ADAM & EVE London, UNITED KINGDOM)
This commercial comprises of one shot that follows the life of a woman from birth through to childhood, parenthood and right through to being a grandparent, showing one person’s passage through life. We move seamlessly from one actress to another, seeing her to age in front of our eyes without any obvious cutting or special effects. The ad is set to a beautiful, poignant music track and it demonstrates that John Lewis’ statement of being Never Knowingly Undersold (on quality, price and service) is their lifelong commitment to their customers. Wonderful campaign!
10. Blueberries (Silver | CAR ONE | CAR DEALERSHIP | LEO BURNETT ARGENTINA Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA)
In Argentina, there’s a culture of trying to make a fortune with a fast profit- making business. Blueberries and other alike products begin to come into fashion according to changes in every day life and exchange rates. This ad points how fortune changes the possession of your car and how ‘Car One’ will help you to find one (from cheap to expensive). Funny one!
11. Sword Collector (Silver | LAND ROVER | LAND ROVER | Y&R New York, USA)
Land Rover drivers experience a feeling of safety that drivers of other vehicles don’t. “You’ll feel safe inside campaign.” humorously demonstrates the sense of confidence that a Land Rover driver feels when they are inside one of the toughest, safest, most versatile vehicles ever made.
12. Dove Man (Silver | UNILEVER | MEN’S CARE | OGILVY FRANCE Paris, FRANCE)
From the minute he is born the world expects a man to be a man. This is the story of one man throughout his life as people and society heap pressures and expectations upon him. He does his best to keep up with the frantic pace until he reaches a point in his life when he finally has it all under control. And when he’s made it this far and can take on anything, he is comfortable in his own skin. Seriously… funny ad!
13. Different Scents for Different Gents (Silver | OLD SPICE / MALE GROOMING / WIEDEN+KENNEDY Portland, USA)
1 of 2 ‘Silver Lion’ award winning campaigns. This campaign was designed to let people know that Old Spice has a different scent, for every kind of man. Mind-blowing. Hilarious too!
You can watch the another one (continuation) here.
14. Black and White (Silver | UNILEVER | SKIP DETERGENT | BORGHIERH/LOWE São Paulo, BRAZIL)
The narrator reads a text of a story that is shown in the form of a cartoon in black and white. At the end of the story, the lettering is displayed asking the person to pay attention to the white parts of the same animations and then to follow a new story. At the end of this new story, it is explained that black and white are different stories thus explaining the two products Skip White and Skip Black, each specialists in washing their designated color. Pretty creative.
15. Paintball (Silver | AB-INBEV | BUD LIGHT BEER | DDB Chicago, USA)
1 of 4 ‘Silver Lion’ award winning campaign. Not too heavy, not too light. Shows a man playing paintball, he comes out of cover to fire on an enemy, only to realize that his bullets are hitting the man to lightly. Then comes the heavy twist and settlement – Bud Light is just right! LMAO
You can watch other three hilarious winning campaigns here: 1 | 2 | 3
16. Hospital (Silver | A. DAIRY | PANDA CHEESE | ADVANTAGE MARKETING & ADVERTISING Cairo, EGYPT)
1 of 3 ‘Silver Lion’ winning campaigns. Never say no to Panda (Cheese). That’s it!
